The mission of Jewish Family & Community Services is to strengthen the entire community by providing family and individual services, without prejudice, in the Jewish tradition of helping people help themselves. JFCS was founded in 1917 as United Jewish Charities, and was known for assisting people with food and emergency shelter. Since its inception, JFCS has been proactive in identifying changing needs in the community and in developing services to meet those needs.

JFCS arranges affordable transportation for older adults of the Jewish faith to religious services, medical appointments, shopping trips and recreational activities.
Jewish Healing Network
Bikkur Cholim, visiting the sick, is a well established tradition in Judaism. It is an honor to perform the mitzvah of visiting one who is ill, hospitalized or isolated. The Jewish Healing Network (JHN), sponsored by Jewish Family & Community Services and funded in part by the Jewish Federation, is part of a growing national movement. As a trained JHN volunteer, you can become an important link in our Jewish community, taking the sacred resources of Judaism to those in need of healing.
Come be part of our volunteer team by attending the Fall training class, and being available to visit those in need, offering comfort and support, and fulfilling the mitzvah of Bikkur Cholim.
