Archives

Our congregation was formally chartered in 1882 and is the oldest house of worship in Jacksonville and the second oldest synagogue in Florida.   As such, our Temple Archives serve as a primary resource for Jewish history here in Northeast Florida. Local college students, media and even the Jacksonville Historical Society frequently access our archives. Housed adjacent to the Wurn Family Library, its activities serve as a bridge from our Jewish past to our Jewish future.

Through our strong archival program, we collect a wide range of media, including books, manuscript materials, photographs, audiotapes, videotapes, and three-dimensional and multimedia materials as they relate to our history, present, and future.
